Retail Sales leads with a sunset-tangerine banner that fades from #ff6b1a to a deeper #e54a00, scattered with soft translucent circles and a single glowing gold star. That warmth is a deliberate signal. Retail hiring managers scan for people who look approachable and energetic on a busy floor, and a chunky uppercase name in Nunito Black over a bright header reads as exactly that, where a grey corporate banner would read cold. The headline sitting in a white rounded pill keeps your job title legible against the colour, and the contact details tucked into small teal discs beside it feel personable rather than administrative.
Below the header the layout drops to one clean cream column that reads straight down, which is the right call for a role type where the reader wants the story fast. The two-tone system does the hierarchy for you: tangerine marks structure while teal marks content. Section titles carry a rotated tangerine diamond and a dashed underline, experience and education sit in white cards with a teal left border and dates in teal pills, and every bullet opens with a tangerine check-circle. Nunito carries the headings and Quicksand handles the smaller labels, a pairing that stays rounded and friendly at every size without tipping into childish.
This is built for retail associates, sales assistants, store supervisors, cashiers, brand ambassadors and front-of-house customer service staff. If your work is about people, energy and hitting targets, the palette is working for you. It extends naturally to showrooms, hospitality and events, anywhere a warm first impression is part of the job.
Be honest about where it does not belong. The tangerine header, star medals and teal badges are too playful for law, finance, senior management or academic roles, and a conservative corporate panel would serve those better. It also assumes a colour environment. If your target employer is likely to print and photocopy in greyscale, the tangerine-to-teal contrast flattens and the decorative discs lose their point, so weigh that before you commit.
Feed the structure what it was designed for. The check-circle bullets are made for quantified wins, so lead each one with a number: sales lifted, conversion rate, average basket size, upsell figures, queue times, mystery-shopper or customer-satisfaction scores. Keep the summary short and punchy in the tangerine-bordered box, three or four lines at most, because the single column gives it real visual weight up top. Put your strongest, most recent role first, since the eye travels straight down the cream column with no sidebar to compete.
Do not leave the accent sections empty, because gaps show badly in a design this expressive. The teal skill badges are ideal for POS systems, merchandising, stock control and languages spoken on the floor, and the star-medal awards cards are where Employee of the Month, sales-league wins or long-service recognition earn their place. The common mistake is overstuffing: cram too many badges or a dozen dense bullets per role and the white cards lose their air. Aim for four to six bullets on your latest job, fewer on older ones, and let the whitespace between cards breathe.
The underlying markup is ordered, well-labelled HTML with conventional headings like Experience, Skills and Education, which most parsers read cleanly regardless of the visual styling. The tangerine header, teal pills and check-circle icons are presentation only and do not carry text the parser needs. Still, before applying through a strict applicant tracking system, copy the rendered CV into a blank document and confirm every role, date and bullet lands in the right order.
It is pitched at the shop floor and front-of-house, so for a store manager stepping up it can still work, but for regional, buying or head-office leadership the playful tangerine-and-teal treatment undersells the seniority. Those roles read better in a more restrained layout. If you are early or mid-career in customer-facing retail, this design is squarely in its lane.
